We are a highly successful company supplying estimating and project management software to a large number of local and international construction companies. Thousands of Candy Systems are in use around the world.

We are looking for 5 people to join our Centurion team (South Africa) to assist with marketing, user support, training and administration.

Senior & Junior QS/Estimator

The successful candidate will hold a construction related qualification with 3-8 years practical experience in the construction industry. A good working knowledge of the Candy system, in particular Candy Estimating and Valuations is required.

Senior Planner

The successful candidate will require minimum of 5 years practical planning experience in the construction industry. A good working knowledge of the Candy system, in particular Candy Planning is required.

Travel will form an integral part of the jobs above and will involve visiting existing and prospective clients both locally and internationally. If you are strongly motivated with good presentation skills and enjoy working with people we would like to have you on our team.

Software Licence Controller x 2

Candidates require experience in stock control and general administration. Previous experience with Bookkeeping, debt collecting and accounts in the construction industry will be an advantage.

Remuneration packages is highly negotiable.

Estimating Manager
IREKO Design and Construction Ltd, a member of British American Investment Co. (Mtius) Ltd and a fast expanding company offering a wide range of construction services in Mauritius and Madagascar, currently has exciting and challenging opportunity for an Estimating Manager on contract basis. Job Purpose: Lead the estimating team and establish estimating processes and procedures. Experience in mentoring and coaching staff is a definite plus. Profile: • Preferably, a degree in Quantity Surveying however we are willing to consider Estimating Managers with an Engineering background • Have as a minimum 7 years experience in Estimating for a Building contractor out of which 3 years as an Estimating Manager • Competent in computerised estimating packages such as CCS. • Familiar with tendering process, from beginning to verification of bid proposal • Extensive experience of planning systems and • Familiar with working with diverse cultures Main Accountabilities: • Planning, organising monitoring and controlling the estimating process • Efficiently utlise the department resources to meet bid submission dates comfortably. • Visiting sites for estimating purposes and building up a cost data library especially for the in-house design and build projects the firm undertakes. • Management and control of the co-ordination of all meetings and their required deliverables in-accordance with agreed Company policy and instructions from senior management. • Management of the preparation of bills of quantities to facilitate cost plans and preliminary estimates. • Establishment of a robust library of estimating data held electronically and where necessary in paper format to assist in benchmarking bids and developing standard formats for reviews. • Establishing cash-flows for each major tender, strategically important to the company. • Management of the supply change data during the tendering process to effect best costs for all bids and tenders the department put out. • Keeping and monitoring a current up-to date file on elemental rates for labour, plant and materials in the department. • Working closely with the Construction Manager for development of the programme and preliminaries requirements of bids. • Managing all proposals that come through the department. • Managing the timetable and deliverables for all adjudication meetings held with the senior management team. • Establishing and assisting in training and development of the estimators in-conjunction with the Commercial Director Remuneration An attractive package will be offered to the right candidate.
